I'm teaching in Kosovo now, but am planning a trip to Athens over the X-mas break.
Just wondering if travel during this time is problematic re: no trains running, or overcrowded due to EVERYONE traveling.
Thanks in advance. |

Getting around is usually no trouble at all at Christmas as the big family event of the year is the Easter Sunday roast.
If you are planning to travel far then note that buses (or planes and ferries to the islands) are usually far more reliable and widely used than trains. Greece does have a railway network of sorts but it was very much built as a nineteenth century status symbol and is little used. The country is far too mountainous to be amenable to tracks. |
