I'm wondering what you all do when you are not teaching? My husband and I are not much into the party scene so I fear that there won't be anything to od during our free time! any suggestions of cool stuff to do around Taiwan? |

Where do you live?
Most towns have things going on around town. Hsin-chu has free concerts at two different location on week-ends. There's always the night markets or just walking the streets and watching the other people.
We bought a DVD player for week nights when we're tired of the same movies being played.
Take the bus or the train to the next town for the day or even spend the night.
Study chinese. That takes up a lot of my free time. |

If you don't speak any chinese the language barrier will turn any minor problem or event into an epic journey. Just trying to find a street name will be an adventure. Don't worry, there are thrills and spills on every corner. I assure you you won't get bored but you will probably get frustrated.
Personally riding my scooter around mountains occupied a lot of my time and also drink Taiwan beer, but never at the same time of course |
