Please use this thread to continue to tell others about your shopping experiences. I consider this to be a useful and valuable thing for people to share, as many of us are trying to survive in this country on not the largest amounts of money.

My apologies to the moderators if this is too controversial.

I am addicted to the Acibadem Carrefour. I finally found pickled jalepenos, after searching almost 3 years... I am at peace now.

carrefour is right good. it's huge. i went to macro - once loved it. it has everything but you have to be a member. my school took us when we first came into turkey. where i live our best shop is the local mm migros. best day was finding ramen in carrefour - really brought me back to my korea days...

ps. yar - it took me half the day but finally got an avatar - whatcha think?

one thing i really like here is if you don't have change and the shopkeeper doesn't have change, he may tell you to pay later. I also like that you can bargain in a store, particularly if you are paying in cash. And I like that you can pay taksit without using a credit card.

Corall, lovely avatar. Good choice. I was a manic, dancing Calvin a few years ago before the jpeg link died.

Btw, am done for the day if you fancy a pint in Kadikoy (too knackered to go further afield)

If you want to spend a bit try Okra or Okka (not sure about the spelling) in Kozyatağı. A bit expensive but you pay for what you get. Also the fresh fish and veg market in Kadiky has some great import deli's

SOK is owned by Migros, they are cheaper than Migros..... before you buy something from SOK check the expire date, you will see why they are cheaper....the cheapest place is NAMLI in Sisli...

What do you think of the ET canteens?
