How hard is it to get a job in Thailand? I hardly ever see any advertised on the job section of this web-site.

I assume you're referring to teaching work. It's easy to get a job, but getting a good job can depend on quals, nationality, experience etc. And can depend on who you want to teach, where, etc.

You really need to give more info to be honest, your question is pretty vague!

That's pretty much what I was going to post. There are many many teaching jobs in Thailand, but not very many good jobs.

The reason Thai schools don't advertise on the jobs page of this site is that is costs money to do so and most Thai schools are too cheap to pay.

Check the free ads at: http://www.teflasia.com/ajarn/jobs/index.html

What about teaching English at a high school as I am doing now in Japan?Or what about teaching adults in a language school?

Hi,

Thai schoools have a specific website that most of them advertise on. It's
www.ajarn.com
If you look there you will see many - high school/junior school/university.
High school is Mattayom
Junior school is Prathom

Good luck searching
Laura

Just a comment to add to the good advice that's already been given.

In terms of TEFL markets, Thailand is a bit odd in that there are already thousands of expats living here and available to interview on short notice, whereas Dave's tends to be geared more toward the international TEFLer, who may or may not eventually end up here in Thailand.

Because of that, Thai school managers and DOSs tend to advertise on 3 websites that specialize in this market.

If you click on The Master Index (located at the top of this forum) and scroll down to Part II - TEFL Thailand - and then surf the first 3 links within that category, you'll find more job offers for Thailand than you know what to do with.
