Ah Valentine's Day...

Married? Grab your wife or husband or significant other and let them know how much you care.

Single? Today's your day, go and get thee some love.

Not interested? Well, there's always chocolate

As the Mexicans adopted a lot of the american holidays Valentine's is one of them. The good thing here is that it is here more a friendships day. So not only for lovers but also a day to give friends a little present.

Hey yeah! You just reminded me! Last year my neighbour gave me a little trinket box, and a big hug!

It was really nice, and I got all these cute emails from my Mexican friends.

Not a big thing here in the Basque Country....

I'm not living in Mexico at the moment but I follow the Mexican custom of remembering friends (not just lovers) on Valentine's Day. If you don't have a spouse or "significant other" (as I don't), it keeps you from feeling left out of the festivities of February 14. And to friends living far from you (as many of mine are), you can always send electronic Valentine's Day cards, better on-line greetings than none at all!
