Ok, some random questions- the first relates to training. Are there just a few cram schools that provide quality training to teachers (at first and continuing throughout the year)? It seems like the larger chain schools emphasize that but I don't know about the smaller schools... ???
Off-topic questions: Would anyone suggest buying a laptop computer in Taiwan? I've been meaning to get one but am wondering if I should wait.
Also, I hear (more formal) clothes are just as pricey/pricier than the States- true/not true? Bargain hunting isn't any easier in Taiwan?
Do they have larger shoe sizes for women? (8 1/2) |

My friend bought a MAC recently. He got a good deal, but not excellent. The computer also can not be registered because it is crammed with bootleg software. It is very common for computers to have bootleg software. I love his computer. It works greats. He got Adobe writer for free and I use it sometimes. When I got my computer fixed 2 years ago they put a bootleg OS on it.
I have size 11 feet. The higher end shoe stores generally have shoe I can fit. You will not have a big problem finding shoe. Your shoe size is not that big.
As for your other questions, wait for others to respond. |

Some places train; others don't; and others are somewhere in between. Larger companies typically have the resources to pay for training seminars, teacher mentors and supervisors. The smaller the company, the less likely they are to have training available. This is a general statement and isn't always the case, though. I've seen some smaller places that employ a trademark technique go to great lengths to train up staff. I've worked in a couple of places here and heard tell of others' training experiences. Generally speaking, training isn't particularly extensive in alot of places. Most of your learning will likely come from on the job experience and assistance from local coteachers and assistants. |
