In an advert by Wise Power (Far East) Ltd it links itself to Time Enterprises (http://time-ent.com.hk) and I'm curious as to what the connection is between Wise and magazine, publication and media corporation? Could anyone enlighten me?

umbrage

n : a feeling of anger caused by being offended; "he took offence at my question" [syn: offense, offence]

I emailed off my very private and confidential personalised resume to these people only to be sent back "auto-response messages" with

Dear Applicant (I had given them my full name and even my date of birth)

blah, blah... invited for interview on Sat xx time or Tues yy time.

(then a few sentences about if you're applying for the coordinator position you have to have good English skills, computer-use abilities to deal with our team of 200 teachers...) - I suspect this pro forma paragraph was put in because of the terrible difficulty I had trying to get the young girl who answered the phone to understand my communication.

Then phone to confirm which date & time. Come and write a lesson plan from resources that we'll give you and have a group interview. Bring photocopies of your documents for our record files...

Can the company not afford the expense of making photocopies of my certificates when I get there and is the company going to pay me for writing out a lesson plan from their resources?

Well I'm surprised they didn't tell me to pay a $300 administration fee to process my application.

Company name (not even a pro forma auto-reply with somebody's name)
World city area admin office
Tel
Fax

Is it just me who would take umbrage at this kind of treatment of my private & personal information or how would you respond to this cold, unemotional treatment?

All of the above is true, but generally they are no worse than other companies of their type in HK.

CHECK OUT WHAT THE *beep* REPLIED TO MY EiMAIL OF COMPLAINT.

It is evil and disguising that you think in your own way. No school will confirm any applicant who does not show up for interview to prove its CV. No matter it is a part-time or full-time position for teaching assignments.
