I've always wanted to go to Scandinavia... and yes, I am aware that the odds of getting a job there are extremely slim to none.
There is a group called the American-Scandinavian foundation that does placements for Americans to teach English in Finland- has anyone worked with this group by any chance? I've searched the forums and have found a few references to them, but no one has mentioned direct experience with them. It looks like you send your resume to the foundation, and they send you "application invitations" to individual schools. When you apply to each school, you send in a non-refundable application fee along with a deposit (returned if you're rejected from the school, or when you start work if you're accepted.) I'm wondering if this is worth the investment what with the snowballs chance of an American getting a teaching job in a nordic country. Any thoughts? |
