Hey,
Just a question about Colombia as there seems to be virtually nothing on the web regarding the availability of ESL positions there. Here's my story: I have a B.A and an M.A, have taught ESL for one year in South Korea, and have worked as a teaching assistant for a first year university course in Canada while i was a grad student. I have no TOEFL, or any accreditation of the sort. Currently I am in my first year of law school in Canada and would like to find an ESL gig in Colombia beginning in late April or early May. I spent a couple months there last summer backpacking and really loved it and want to return. Im not looking to make tons of money, only to support myself and rent a cheap apartment. My preference is to work in Bogota, but I would work just about anywhere in Colombia. Having said that, I would be keen on working just about anywhere in Latin America.
So my main questions are: ARe there jobs to be had in Colombia for someone with my qualifications (oh yeah, i speak only a little spanish)? Would you reccommend just booking a flight to Bogota and hoping for the best? What about other countries? hey, if anyone can hook me up with a job anywhere in LA i would be eternally grateful!
Any assistance that anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks,
