I am currently living in Inner Mongolia China....my contract is up on Jan 24/06. I am really wanting to go teach in Thailand. Do you think it is too soon to start notifying schools now...?? I notice that there year starts in May and ends in March ..

What do you guys think.??? Should I start looking now and contacting some schools so that they keep me in mind when the new school year comes around...????

Also I am pretty sure that if need to stay here in China till May.... my company will find work for me....so it wont be a problem if I have to wait till May.

Please send me your thoughts...

Uh yeah, cujobites is ryght. There's no point in contacting a school and telling them you'll be available next year, especially schools in Thailand. Generally, they don't think much further ahead than their next meal.

It sounds like you want to leave now. Maybe you should give notice and leave early, come to Thailand and get a job starting in June.

But if you're having problems with debt, Thailand may not be the place to be. Pay is not great and the cost of living isn't that low. But I suppose it would be better in many ways than Mongolia.

So you have our opinions, get a grip. If you have debt teaching english in a country whose currency is valued so much lower than your country of debt is probably not the best way.

try vietnam--you can save a lot. Forget thailand, it is a colony of the USA.
Better yet, try cambodia, tho it is not great for saving...

best of luck to you.

btw, can you tell us anything about Mongolia. I would appreciate any impressions or info.

cheers

Sonny,
you have conflict management difficulties and should not be working in social environments such as classrooms. Also, with debts hanging over your head it looks like you need to learn how to make a good plan for your life before you become a burden on other societies.
Can't you find a job back home?

Thankx for the useful comments..I was pretty shocked to recive some rude ones......ummmm. yeah Inner Mongolia.....what could I tell ya..I am in a small town outside of Tongliao.....i am really close to the desert and there isn't really that much to do. Honestly..I don't mind it it is giving me a lot of time to focus on me and do what I want.

The ppl up here are super dooper nice.....and the Mongolian ppl are the best. I am taking mongolian dance lesson..which seem to be going ok. There are a lot of jobs in Tongliao at the University's and high schools, but the company I work for I can't say that i would recommend it to anyone.........now...It was cool at the beginnng but as time passed some of the teachers got sheeat on. I am not too sure of what other king of info you would like to know but will def. give you more if you wish....
