What's everyone's preliminary schedule like? I have got five different schools, pretty far from where I live. Is this the general standard this year? Watch out for those hidden split shifts.

There wasn't a contract included either....what's going on?

Warning! You should read my thread working in Japan without a contract! Don't let this happen to you!

USCOM the company I was working for still owes me the salary of October and November's of 2003. No way to collect too. I have been to the Labour Board, talk about a waste of tax payers money. I have been to lawyers, not enough money to get a lawyer's attention.
You need to demand a contract or start looking for a different job. You are right now at their mercy.

Sorry Kong but you don't understand.. mostly because you have not worked for ECC I assume.

ECC before the April start in years past gave preleminary schedules to teachers giving them an idea where they were gonna be placed, on what days off, etc.

Final schedules are given the day of the big meeting for all teachers in the region wherein you meet your school directors and can ask them questions etc. usually there are little to know changes on this final schedule. If there is a large one, most HR in the past have let you know about it.

Just contact the kansai HR folks and ask whats up. One of them would have made the schedule and you should ask to speak to them then. Helps if you can keep a chatty/friendly rapport with them throughout the year to then get your info sooner or to change it to suit you as needed.

Call em. That's the best advice I can give ya atm.

You should look into small claims court. With reasonable Japanese or a friend it is relatively easy. As long as you have the correct paperwork proving what you are owed you have a big chance of a ruling in your favour. I know that the Gneeral Union in Osaka has had some success in using this where Labour Standrads wouldn't get off their fat arses and do some work.

Don't be sorry bearcat, my only concern is to prevent anyone else getting swindled out of hard owned money by a corrupt company. If this nothing to do about salary then my mistake. And I have nothing else to add.

If you get stuck for information the GU has someone who has quite a bit of experience with small claims court. PM if need be and I am sure he might be willing to give you some info.

I could use all the help I can get. I do not live anywhere near Saitama now so I will have to go at it alone.

I have always gotten my contract with the preliminary schedule. ( I work in the Kinki Area)

It would be nice to know if I really want to continue to work for them. Last year the pay raises were pretty bad ......just hoping this year is better. i need the raises to help pay for national health insurance and pension premiums. No shakai hoken is a drag............
