It is that time to start figuring out what to pack as we make the move to the mountains of Nagano. I think we can manage the basics on our own, but would like to know if anyone has any suggestions. We are moving into a furnished apartment, but figure we must bring towels and sheets? Also what makes a good gift for our boss? We plan on bringing some wine, bur would like to make a gift basket of sorts? Any help would be appreciated |

Suggestions abound on this and other web sites. Do a search here, look at the FAQ, and read the Teaching Guide links at www.eltnews.com as well as the info on http://thejapanfaq.cjb.net .
Gifts for the boss? One bottle of wine will do. If you want to go one step further, bring some individually wrapped cakes or cookies for the staff. |

Sheets and towels are (relatively) heavy. Use your luggage allowance for something more valuable/precious/personal and buy them here - besides if you have a futon you'll need fitted futon covers; easy to obtain here.
If you were English I'd say bring decent Teabags but as you're Usanians there's plenty of good brazilian coffee to be gotten here. |
