Hi all,
I was intending to go to work in Thailand but have just found out my innocculations are going to take a full 2 months if I wan any kind of protection so I now have time to research other areas.
I am leaving the country with a small amount of debt (about 50-60 per month) and have heard that Thailand is not really the place to go if I want to pay that off and still live a reasonable life. I'm thinking of changing and going to South Korea instead where they pay double the wage and include flights and accomodation as well. But is it worth it? Thailand means I'll be living in a hot part of the world a few hours from amazing beaches. That sounds pretty awesome, I want to pay off my debt tho, how much is the cost of living in SK? If the wage is significantly better (relatively speaking) in SK then I will go there if not I'll stick with BKK. I'd appreciate some more knowledgable peoples views on my dilema.
Thanks all

The wages are much higher in S. Korea. You will have no problem saving money. I'd say you could save 500 pounds a month there. I saved 3 times that amount, but that was 10 years ago when the exchange rates were better and I had amazing jobs.
Korea may be the easiest place to save money in the Far East. You may make a little more in Japan, but the cost of living is quite a bit higher in Japan, especially if you want to do any kind of travelling. |
