FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT

14TH National Conference, May 7 ï¿½ 8 2004

Venue: New Bulgarian University - Sofiaï¿½

BETA-Iatefl is pleased to welcome you to the national annual ELT event of 2005 on May 7 and 8 in Sofia. ï¿½

The forum is co-run by BETA-Iatefl, The New Bulgarian University, the British Council Bulgaria and Longman.ï¿½

Traditionally there is no restricting theme for the Conference. A broad range of topics will be covered including Teacher Training, Teacher Development, Mentoring, Teaching Young Learners, ESP, Testing, Teaching Literature, English Across Curriculum, Cultural Studies, Intercultural Learning and many others.

On 6 May a pre-conference joint workshop is planned for participants from Macedonia and Bulgaria devoted to the problems of ELT for young learners.ï¿½

The Conference opens May 7th Saturday at 10.00 and finishes 8th Sunday 16.00. It will contain plenaries, presentations, workshops and discussions. A major ELT Book Exhibition will accompany the conference ï¿½ the latest titles will be available for inspection or purchase at special conference prices throughout the event. ï¿½

As usual well-known practitioners in the field of ELT are invited as plenary-note speakers.ï¿½
