Hey, I have a bit of a general question for anyone interested in answering. I will be spending the months of May, June and July in the Puerto Vallarta area doing a small amount of volunteer teaching. I really want to see many different parts of Mexico that are within a decent bus ride away (decent =< 12 hours).

I am interested in places big and small, both on and off the beaten path. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as well as any advice for a young gal travelling solo.

Thanks a lot,

Sherri

Hello!
While I think that your question is a little TOO general (12 hours from Pto Vallarta is giving yourself too many options to choose from I think) then I have to recommend such colonial towns as Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende, Michoacan, Zacatecas.... I personally love that area and am itching to go back!
