Hi folks,

We sometimes see comments about what it takes to teach at a university, but I don't know if I've seen comments about other kinds of post-secondary institutions in Japan. What about the 2-year junior colleges, or the semmon gakko (vocational college, I guess it would be), or technical schools or specialised colleges and whatnot. I've also heard that some universities run non-credit conversation schools or programs for their students. Do university language classes have language labs (where the students meet in small groups with a native speaker for extra practice)?

I know there are a few foreign language semmon gakko around Tokyo, but I have no idea what the requirements are.

Any thoughts or experiences with post-secondary institutions other than a regular position at a 4 year universities?

Anybody know a site to find out about all this stuff?
