My 1999/2000 imac is running OS8.6. To conect to the local cable network I need OS9.0 or above. The machine can't handle OSX.
Anybody with a set of installation disks for Mac OS9 to enable me to smite the unworthy more efficiently?
thanx,

I'm not a 100% sure on this, but I think you can download OS 9.1 from an Apple site.
I know my pal had an OS 9.1 install disk and then upgraded to OS 9.2.2 by downloading it from the internet.
Yeah, I tried running Mac OS X on my '99 ibook and it crashed and burned big time. Kind of messed up the computer a bit.
Good luck. |

The latest OS that can be downloaded for free from Apple is 8.1.
Anyway, I still have the OS 9.2.1 installation disc that came with my iMac DV SE (circa 2000). I could send it your way if you'll cover postage. Send me an email at albright at anre point net. I have a better idea, though; get a new Mac already! OS X rules! |
