I just thought I would post what has been offered to me by one private, k-12 bilingual school in Valencia.

One million bolivars monthly.

Plus, health, vacation, bonus, and lunch every day.

WIth current exchange rates it is just under 500 dollars monthly.

Current estimates by my own circle of friends say that will cover the basics of living there.

I just looked at new projects going up in Los Mangos (condos) and starting prices are around 45k (USD). I am wondering about buying as an investment and if I will make anything from it in two years or more.

I have not signed anything yet.

How long would you be in Venezuela if you took the offer?

I am thinking two-three years--long enough to complete a distance master's.

Don't know about 'basics' but, I was offered a full-fledged position at a university...for about 600 bucks or so - depending upon living situation...he said it was enough...comparable to local teacher salaries...

Hmmm. Alitas has been bragging about how rich she is on this forum, how money is no object, etc.

So why is she suddenly in a big panic about making enough to live on?

And investing in condos, now?

Something has always not added up with this dame.

BTW, that's a fairly typical teaching salary in Venezuela....

Alitas...
Congrats in the job offer. I think that you should go for it... from your past posts it seems that you really love Venezuela. As for the condo investment...real estate is usually a good investment and often quick returns. I wish you the best of luck.
