|

For those about to leave for Taiwan and who are considering applying for a visitor's VISA (which can be transferred to a work visa without having to leave the country), be warned that you might be asked to provide a bank statement along with the other application materials.
They just want to ensure that you have the proper funds for your stay in the country, but they totally neglect to mention it on any of the consulate websites. I called the day before my visit to the Atlanta TECO to see if I could bring in an e-ticket and was reminded to bring a bank statement. I ended up rushing around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to get together financial statements an hour before the banks closed!

This is normal procedure, but thanks for the reminder. |

The regulations for visa applications are sporadically enforced. Best to be prepared with any and all documents and 3 copies of each.
Good luck,
