Hey y'all, just looking for a bit of advice...
I'm a uni grad with a BA in Journalism, not TEFL or CELTA certified but would like to test the waters first before I dive in. What location is the best location for a no-experience teacher who can only work for about 6-7 months? Do many schools hire short term? Would I have to sign a contract? Any advice would be helpful! |

| Can you volunteer in Seattle? If not, I'm sure China would be happy to have you! |

| Most schools are uninterested in anything less than 1 year, but some schools in China will offer 6 months or less. The trick is to find a _good_ school and location, so make sure you do your research before accepting any offers. |

I read today on a school in Xinjiang, China that does 6 month contracts.
It's in the west of China. Maybe not your cup of tea, but just thought I'd mention it. |

plenty of schools in China offer or settle for 6 months contracts, especially if you come in a week or two after the beginning of the semester. Heck, I even know some folks that managed to work for 2 or 3 months only.
If money is not an issue (you'd break even in 6 months here) just do it.

You could always accept a one year contract and do a midnight run when ready. This, of course, sounds unethical and it is, but the places in China you will be working will do such a number on you that it will radically override any ethical laws you might feel bound by.
