I need help!!

I was working on a 1 year Z-Visa under contract in Shenzhen (Doing IT). I had a Residence Permit and Work Permit.

Coming up to the end of my contract my employers didn't want to raise my wage to the expected level, so I decided to take another offer elsewhere in Shenzhen.

I've been in China for nearly three years and have a list of satisfied employers. Also, I have always worked with legal permits.

Now when I went to join the new employer after canceling my Work permit (still retaining my Residence and Z-Visa), I discovered he was full of hot air and he let me down. Luckily I found another employer in Hubei province who snapped me up straight away after a few sleepless nights

Sounds rosey so far, here is where it gets bad.

I relocate to Hubei. But for safety I have kept my appartment in Shenzhen along with my belongings, and my gf didn't hand in her notice yet, waiting until I obtain my permits in Hubei.

I am then told I need a certificate of Education to obtain the new work papers. I had worked in Hubei before, for a fiber optics company and never had to produce any education certificate, but I'm told a change in the law has occured recently.

At this point in time I have flown back to Shenzhen. My employers said they will pay my wages still and my expenses.

My papers (Z and RP) will expire on the 9th.

I currently have a 12 month contract signed by the new employers in Hubei.

I no longer think there is enough time to process the papers in time even if I use a fake cert of education. But I maybe be able to get some slack on this deadline, if so, any advise on fake certs?

If I obtain a certificate of education but there isn't time to process this, what would my plan of action be regarding going to Hong Kong and trying to get back in with the invitation of employment and the signed contract?

I get the impression many of you have had these horrible situations before and can relate to the extreme stress of having your life hang in the balance and all your worldly belongings, including your partner.

Any good advice or education certificate help I get, I will return the favour very generously

How could you job-hop from one employer to No. 3 in such a short time? Without a release letter? You need that one first, sonny; I don't know what else you need. But in general, you are not supposed to be staying on in rented premises once you quit your job.

Khao San Road in Bangkok is one place where you can buy authentic looking university degrees (aged, 'weathered' paper, complete with transcripts.

A word of caution; I have heard of several foreigners having had their work permit applications rejected, and being 'black-listed', in Thailand due to submitting fake certificates and I recently read a news report of a foreigner that was arrested in South Korea after his employer found out that his degree was a Khao San Road fake.

I have always changed jobs using all the correct procedures, such as release letters and transferal approval stamped letters, hence why I have lived here for nearly 3 years and always had Z-visas.

Originally I worked in Wuhan (Hubei), then I transfered to Shenzhen (Guangdong). Now I am transfering back to Wuhan. At all times I used stamped release letters. Also my release letters always stated I carried out my duties perfectly and the companies were very happy with the service I provided to them.

I had a release letter from my last company which has been processed at my local bureau. I now hold an 'Authorized to transfer letter'. stamped by the local bureau saying I am ok to transfer to the new job in Wuhan. But when I arrived at the bureau in Wuhan they required any type of education certificate to process my application.

I spoke to a policeman in Wuhan and also locally and they have advised me to obtain a 1-month L-visa to cover my status while I await any form of educational certificate, this I have done. They have no problem for me to be staying in rented accom, not sure what Roger has been told or experienced before. Remember the rules vary from province to province.

I'd be happy to sit an English exam at a local school here and then be given a legit certificate of sorts. I think this would solve my problem.

Does anyone know if this service exists or where this type of service is available?

Maybe you work at a school that can provide an exam for me to sit and then a certificate. I have about a month.
It can be a genuine exam nothing fake needed, my English language skilles are really quite good.

Really look forward to hearing any type of replies. I'll keep this thread updated with any outcome so it maybe of use to anyone else in my situation.

UPDATE:

As time was always the issue here I was willing to try to find a legit quick route option that would solve the problem.

I've found a solution and here is what I did.

I went to the bureau and made my case. Telling them that I could not obtain the certificates within the deadline and thay have agreed to process the application and will then require me to produce my real certificates at a later date. I know I can easily obtain my real certificates within about 2 months. Using a route of Lawyer applies for them on my behalf with me using a public notary to instruct them. I think American name for this is a sworn afidavid?

I also highlighted to them the amount of Chinese tax I have paid over the years and will continue to do so. I do not know if this helped or not but thought I would supply these details as they may be useful to someone at some point.

Leon, what exactly are you talking about? Going to an English class for a week and getting a Good Job certificate with stickers on it, and then handing that in to the authorities? The education certificate they are talking about is a University Degree, and frankly they aren't done in two months. So you basically just commited fraud in China saying you would produce them soon.

Boy, do I feel like a schmuck for spending 4 years in University. I could have gone to Thailand and got one... and a tan to boot!

No fraud here Tradinup, maybe I didn't give you enough details so you filled in the grey areas with assumption. They have requested that I supply a form of Education Certificate, not a certificate of a 4 year degree. They told me to my face that a proof of schooling is fine with them and it does not need to be higher education or a degree. This is due to my 10+ years of experience in the IT industry and maybe also the fact that I am not going to be teaching.
It's a technicality for them that they have to have a document from me of this type. I think I have already met the required level of skills. They just need to now satisfy their requirements for the documents included with the application, one of which is named 'Education Certificate'.

I'm not a teacher, and I'm not going to be doing a teaching job in Wuhan, so I don't need a degree.

The fact that I will work there will create an extra 40+ jobs for the local Chinese people and ultimately lead to a slight fraction of more prosperity for the local area.

Anyway they have now contacted my old place of study and confirmed my education certificate. I will still take the replacement certificates to them as requested at a later date, even though it kind of seems pointless now.
