Yes... You can go to Brastel's website.

Alternatively, I've mentioned to people on this forum before, if you PM me your full name, mailing address, e-mail adr., b-date, nationality, I can have a card sent out to you...

If you use Brastel and refer a friend to the company, you get 10 free minutes for each person.... (hence my shameless plug)... Smile

Hey Dominique!

I ordered my brastel card online and it was in my mailbox 3 days later. The rates are really good.

www.brastel.com

They will send you all the info in English on how to charge it up.

forget ordering online, just go down to your local Sunkus, Lawson or Circle K, pick one up, register it, pay your yennage and talk away (on the phone of course and not by yourself, to yourself in the combini...)

Takes about 3 days by mail from Brastel if you can't get one from a local store...

6810 is right -- you can sometimes get them locally in person, but availability can be limited... Try it though.

But otherwise, your cards are on the way... Wink

what?
There is a Lawsons next to us, but I didnt see brastel as an option. Are you talking about that crazy Japanese card machine thing? I was only able to get some Smart Card long distance from there.

I'm curious too.

So, I go into one of the above stores...and say...that I want a card. I don't speak much Japanese, but they'll know what I'm asking for, I take it. And I register for it right there with them. What does that involve? And how much are the cards?

I didn't go on the website, but I'm realizing that's what I could do to get the answers. But just in case others are curious...would you mind giving more details?

Right now, we use a "Hi-Line" card that my husband has to get from some guy in another city. It sounds so shady. What's the deal with these cards? Why aren't they more available?

Thanks.

easy, most convenience stores have a brochure rack with various ads, pamphlets etc. Find numerous companies' phone card packs in this area. They are free, wrapped in plastic and colourful. No Japanese required, instructions come in multiple languages.
