Hello,
I have recently been investigating the use of authentic materials in the classroom. I am really interested in trying to integrate more examples of authentic conversation into my classes and am wondering if anyone else has tried this and what the results are. I am talking about such things as active listening to each other (supporting the speaker with nodding of the head, for example) and so forth.
Thanks.

Body Language and TPR, it's my favorite.
I use it with any level.
I first learned TPR teaching kindergarten 10 years ago in Taiwan.
Since then i extended it a milion trillion zillion godzillion vermillion ways.
..
speaking of body lang. ..love it when chinese people point to their nose and say ME?
I guess the Soul is in the Nose , hey!!!?
Maybe they're trying to tell us something.

TPR , I believe, is Total Physical Response. Something elementary, and especially k-school teachers have been doing for generations. Ifhall of the persons senses are doing it, the better. IMy cert clases have been forever ago..a clasic is put your left hand out and shake it all about. If you are happy and you know it clapp your hands.

It keeps the kiddies happy

HC ...RIP
