I am from the USA in Australia at the moment. The Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office in Sydney told me I can get a multiple-entry visitor visa with 60 day stays like the one I had way back in 1990 BUT that it was only valid for ONE year, not the five years I had then. Also, it would cost me $AUD135. Can I get the five years only from a Taipei office in the USA, or is that how they are all issued now? Thanks. |

They still give them out but as always it is up to the official or officials you are talking to at the time.
Try a different office, this time claim you are a business person that will be traveling to and from Taiwan several times a year for the next few years.
Good luck.
