Who's going where for Semana Santa? Any gems of a location that you are hiding?
I'm going to Cuernavaca to stay with some family for a few days, but otherwise, nothing special this year. I spent last Semana Santa in Acapulco but that combined with Spring Breakers makes it a rather crowded and expensive place to go. |

I'm taking the bus down to San Cristobal at the end of the week. I plan to tour around in that area for a week. |

We have from March 19th through April 4th off this year for Semana Santa. Plans = staying in Merida for R&R. Maybe a couple of day trips to the beach. |

Semana Santa in the Sierra Tarahumara is pretty interesting, but it does get crowded. I was there last year.. This year I'm off to Seville! |

I'm going down to Guanajuato to see my friends and pick up the stuff I left when I moved. I'm getting out of there by Wednesday, so I should miss the massive crowds of people (I hope). |

Im making what should be my last trip to Arizona to close out all of my life there. Getting the last of my stuff, legal crap etc etc. Ive decided to stay here indefinitely (or as long as Mexico can tolerate me! ) While Im doing all the necessary stuff, I plan to stuff myself silly on bagels, Sonoran food and pizza (without ketchup!) .
For my next vacation I got to make some in-country plans. |

In the village where I have lived for many years now the major event in Semana Santa is a Passion Play. I have been working on a documentary photo series for the past several years in regard to it. This year I will be concentrating on the "falls" and the crucifixion.
After finishing that series I will be off to South America for awhile. |

I'm heading up to the cool crisp air near Valle del Bravo, for a vipassana meditation course. This includes ten days of what is caled 'Noble Silence', which as a teacher talking constantly, I am REALLY looking forward to!
Check out the link: http://www.dhamma.org/
It's an incredible experience that I highly recommend. |

My hubby and I live a block from the ocean but still it is family tradition for them to set up a campsite directly on the beach for 4 days and family from inland whom we haven't seen in months meets there. (This is a good thing since some of the best recipes come out of the camp-out cooking). It is our busiest time of year as far as traffic jams and crowds of national tourists and it gets so wild that getting to work is sometimes very difficult. |
