So the other day I went with a group of people from the Univeristy to a nearby town called Shu Shu (not sure of the spelling but it's pronounced Shush-Shush) in Fujian.

This town has lots of textile mills and they wanted fabric to have clothes made by the local tailor.

While crossing a medium sized intersection a motorcycle with a rider grabbed the purse of one of the ladies in our group. It happened so quickly we had no time to react.

We thought the motorcycle had actually hit her based on her screams.

And, none of the gypsy taxi/motorcycle drivers gave chase or anything. Afterwards we found out that it was " the Chinese Way" not to get involved.

The police showed up in about 5 minutes and took the lady to the police station.

By the way she was holding her bag in her hand and not wrapped around her in any way.

Lost were lots of important documents from her home country. cellphone, keys, money.
