So, the working holiday visa is technically 20%, but how is this deducted? Will my employer just deduct the usual amount? Do I really need to get my visa changed to a work visa to avoid the 20% or could I just risk it? |

Depends where you work really...
Dealing "under the table" cash to avoid the 20% tax tagged with the WHV is illegal...
...be it at that I know a few friends who worked for companies that did not tax their teachers.
Japan is very streamlined...
...I think you'll be hard pressed to find a company that wont follow the 20% tax law. |
