Does Nova offer a lot of overtime hours- or the ability to pick up shifts that are not filled? |

It is pretty rare anymore - only once and a great while. Nowadays, branch shifts that require coverage due to a teacher calling in sick usually are passed over to the Multimedia Center group. The students are given the option if they'd like to take their lesson that way (video conferencing) instead of a cancellation and many do. In fact, they have teachers at the MM Center that work shifts just to cover classes for teachers at branch that call in sick. This is becoming the norm so overtime at branches is all but gone.
I wouldn't ever count on overtime or extra shifts as a stable extra income at Nova. I have been asked once in the past year.

Yea, I've been here for a few weeks and I was asked to do OT outta the blue for 3 extra lessons. I too hear that it is very rare for people to be able to do OT. You basically have to wait for the sick cover people to not be able to cover in order to be given OT. |

If NOVA does need overtime workers they usually call people that live close to school. That`s what they did at the MM center anyway. |

There have been quite a few people working overtime at the MM center lately- usually around the end of the late shift/begining of the overnight shift- so those lessons typically go to someone close, as the overnight shift lessons cause you to miss the last train if you work more than one or two lessons. |
