I want to find an apartment in Tokyo for my girlfriend and me (both gaiijn, no japanese) , is there any point at all in my going to the Japanese lettings agencies or should I find some gaijin serviced apartment agency.

My friend is Korean though she was born in Japan and has always lived here and she tried the agencies in Shinjuku and came away with the impression that unless youre 100pc Japanese theres no point even trying as Japanese landlords dont want to rent to gaijin and Japanese people dont want to live next to us.

They cant be THAT racist can they? Any information or advice would be appreciated.
