| Hey everyone I'm planning to go back to Cairns after a short trip over on Bali. Does anyone know a good travel agent there to get cheap deals or an airline that flies direct and one-way from Denpasar (Bali) to Cairns? Do you have to book much in advance to get a deal? |

There are no direct flights that I know of DPS/CNS.
You need to fly from DPS to Darwin (choose yr own poison and fly Garuda) or Qantas, and an hour later go to Cairns. Customs are very tough, so bring minimal baggage.
There are great backpackers' hostels in CNS, the best I've been to is "Up Top Down Under' with pool and free evening meals at a restaurant in town.

| Great - thanks a lot. Could you tell me what customs do, why you say they're tough? Would a lap-top be a problem? I'd love to know about the hostels in Cairns - like emails - and any in Townsville if you know them. Also, do you know how little I could get a flight for and where from and how far in advance to get it to get a good deal? Many thanks. |
