Well this sounds like an interesting school isn't it?! (NOT!)
Incidentally, for the average reader on this forum, he or she may be inclined to think that it could be an average international school with regular flaws!! Nevertheless, it is not a usual school!! Especially if you add to the above list of defects, the fact that Al-Rowad pays only 10 months salaries not 12 !
The school is NOT purpose built! Teachers have to walk and climb up stairs to go to students (niiiiiiiiiiice)!! The poor English department teachers in the Boys section are placed on a third floor with no lifts!! (By the way, moving the English Department to the third floor was a decision wickedly taken by the principal to free one of the classes for students aaaaaaah. Isn't the principal thoughtful?!! The maths department shares a wall with .. FOUR toilets!! And some departments change teachers more often than Liz Taylor changed husbands!!
To add insult to injury, teachers are RUGULARLY penalised by money being deducted oof from their peanut salaries and WARNING letters are given out on a regular bases !
You can go on, and on and on about so many wrongs with that school. Starting from the above listed delightful items and all the way to the management (utterly incompetent, ignorant of basic teaching leadership, suffer from an acute form of INSOMNIA when it comes to promises to teachers and above all lower ability in English language!!)
No here is a question that does make one wounder : Why?!! Why are teachers joining this school?!!
Well, the answer is simple and does not need a complex or sopisticted answer it is simply naivety and perhaps we may be forgiven for thinking that we can allow a one time stupidity and thoughtlessness for such an intelligent human being (i.e. a TEACHER!) to perpetrate.
OK how about the good things about this school? Aye aye it is all but fair to mention both sides of the stories, although it is safe to say that the school has trivial advantages over enormous list of disadvantages.
The school has certainly proven to be the starting point for many successful "immigrations" by teachers to other more prosperous institutes. So there you go, the school has done some good to many teachers.
Also, the working hours are not particularly long (40 minutes each lesson) and the school has many holidays and parties!! Mind you, this may be a disadvantage since some teachers reach a very stressful state trying to finish the syllabus! (ooops, put that way up with the list of disadvantages).
And.?! No this is it I think. I would like however, to he hear from other teachers and their opinions on this school. |
