I`m thinking about getting a job with Kojen in Taipei. Is there anyone out there who works for Kojen that can tell me how you like the company, your students, fellow teachers, etc. I`m also wondering if it is best to go for an hourly contract or if the security of a salary contract is the best way to go.

Hi Alyx,

Best thing to do is use the search function on this site. You'll get a range of views from the good to the bad. Read between the lines and you'll probably be about right. I work at the Neihu branch as director of the adult's dept, so I won't bother with my opinion. I've been here for almost 8 years now!

Happy searching,

Chris

Paid every 2 weeks. Archaic but easy curriculum. Claims to do a lot of teacher training, but really means training on how to teach the Kojen way. Some schools are reputedly great, while others are run by aggro dragon ladies. I'd stay away from anything they offer in the Kids department in south Taipei if I were you.

Kojen, like all chain schools, are a good place to get your feet wet, especially if its your first time abroad.

Cheers.

It is good to know that Kojen also teaches adults.

I am also interested in working there. I have a degree, a CELTA and over two years of experience teaching in Europe.

I would like to move to Taipei and teach for Kojen. I currently teach children and advanced adults. But after two years I think I would like to take a break from the children and just teach advanced adults.

Is there anyone you would recommend for me to send my resume to?

Thanks in advance,

Gregory
