I am now in Sapporo. I am from New Zealand but I am too old to get the working holiday visa. This means that i have to either find a sponsor or self sponsor. It seems that the latter is my best option but i am unsure which sapporo schools are good and which ones have a good reputation, especially with teachers. Does anyone have any ideas?
On a totally different note, I am wondering if there is anyone out there who knows a good place where I can buy a guitar. |

Self-sponsorship, as I understand it, cannot be the first type of visa you get. People who have talked about getting it always seem to say that they got it AFTER their first visa ran out. It's probably because immigration may want to see some stability before granting a work visa based solely on PT work.
So, I'd advise looking for FT work instead. I assume you have a degree...? |

actually yesterday I went to immigration. It was good you brought up the issue of getting a multiple visa first time round cos I could ask about this specifically. For Sapporo immigration at least it is ok to apply for such a visa for a first job. Maybe though it is theoretically ok to do but in practice they probably would prefer some stability so I can see your point. Thanks for the thoughts....
oh, by the way, in the end i managed to find a guitar at a very cheap price at Dokidoki for anyone out there who wants to buy one at some stage. |
