I haven't worked for them but SHANGHAI JIAOTONG is one of the country's top universities, I would say in the nation's top ten from among 150 tertiary institutions.
That doesn't mean they will treat or pay you much better than the run-of-themill ones do. . |

I am currently working at Jiaoda. I like teaching here, and have few complaints.
Most people I know are teaching at the Minhang Campus. It is about a 40 min bus ride from Xhijahui. It makes for a long commute especially when you have to teach classes at 8am. The commute is really the biggest headache, but it could be worse I suppose.
Haven't any complaints about getting paid or them holding to the things in the contract.
In addition to the 12 teaching hours, expect 2 hours of office hours aka "English Corners" per week and they are supposed to be in the afternoon. Also you will probably give 1-2 Lectures during the semester and have to attend 2 evening English corners per semester.
PM me if you have some specefic questions other than what I mentioned here. |
