Hi, I have an American friend who is willing to come to China for teaching. Well, she is holding a PhD in Physics and working at a farily good institute in California. Can you guys suggest some websites where provide information on university professors/lecturers recruitment in China?

appreciate it. Smile

See what school nobel laureates went to and correlate the websites.
That sounds crazy that she'd want to come here.

There definitely are such opportunities at the best universities (Qinghua/Tsinghua is one), but I very much doubt there is a central source of information. You'll need to investigate each university separately. The wikipedia list of Chinese universities is a good place to start.

There are also opportunities to teach physics at high schools that offer international qualifications such as the IB (there is a list of schools teaching the IB programme on www.ibo.org).

Your friend has a PhD. She should consider trying to find work in China through organisations which provide for compensation commensurate with her educactional background.

I'd suggest she investigate international fellowship programs and exchanges which would pay her in USD.

Just arranging and coming to teach by herself with a University here, and she will be grossly underpaid in RMB.

Tell her to check out: http://www.teachers.net/jobs/jobboard/abroad/02.27.05.03.39.58.html

Well, a PhD for oral English classes sounds like an Airbus 380 pilot's licence to ride a bike.
Her best options would be jobs in the PRIVATE and FOREIGN-OWNED schools sector. Even Tsinghua won't have much to entice her. English as the language of instruction would be out for most students.

"See what school nobel laureates went to and correlate the websites."

What Nobel laureates would those be? Only two Chinese from China ever won the prize in physics, and they did their graduate work in the USA. They won in 1957.
