for those that have travelled around se asia: how does jakarta compare to bangkok and saigon in terms of how hot it actually feels ? (i.e. relative to pollution, humidity, etc rather than the general weather forcast temperature)
thank you |

I don't know HMC but I know Bangkok and I'd say in my experience that Bangkok felt more uncomfortable heatwise than Jakarta. On the polution side, Jakarta might just beat Bangkok for gagging and spluttering (worse than BK I mean) but I've never felt too wasted by the heat in Jakarta. Most of the time I'm either in an aircon room or I'm out in the (hopefully) breeze - it's when you're away from fans and aircon but inside that things get nasty. A visit to a fanless toilet in a bar can leave you soaking so much that you wonder if you've maybe missed the bowl.
If the heat is factor for you then maybe somewhere like Bandung would be better. Higher up and a bit cooler. |
