Have experiences of teaching English at Raffles-Lasalle school?
One of my Canadian friend had a very unpleasant teaching experiences at that dam school in China. Any of you guys have worked there before? what do you think?
My friend complained about the singaporeans' stupid and bad management. They have probably 8 branches schools in mainland China.
ps: Raffles is a Singaporean company, while lasalle is a Candian school, R-L is a joint venture between them. |

I have worked for Raffles and would advise against it (I resigned after a trail period)...The hours are long and the pay for the work is low, they would often give short notice to unpaid extra marketing work...plus it is a two level pay scale with English teachers on the bottom of the ladder and with little room to grow in career possibilities. The organization is run on fear and excuses. A trade school trying to be a business school by attaching itself to Universities and using the authority to grant degrees, it has major problems with the acceptance of it's sheepskin. |

exactly!
I hear their marketing team is professionally trained to lie to potential students and their parents.
They have many kinds of tricks of cheating the future students, such as phone tricks, on-site interview, campus tour, etc.
Also, the management is totally singaporean style, i.e. not humane at all to people, especially to the Chinese staff.
cj750: did you work for Lasalle school in Shanghai or in singapore or other places, if you don't mind telling us. |
