Hey there, what are some good teaching books, I'm looking for a few different aspects such as teaching methods and grammar excercises.
I know of two so far, Teaching by Principles by H Douglas and How languages are learned by Patsy Lightbrown. Any other suggestions? |

Practical English Usage, by Michael Swan, is an invaluable grammar desk reference.
How English Works, by I don't remember who, has concise grammar explanations coupled with a few exercises for practically any language point you can imagine.
Pronunciation Games, Speaking and Listening, and all the headway resource packs.
Regards,

So many books - so much babble - and so very little really useful material.
But! The English Teaching Matrix by Jack Richards - is one of the few books that I every felt really organized the teaching of EFL. His thinking is very methodical - you get a lot of - "A" should be done first, then "B" next - don't "C" at the same time as it will conflict with "B" for this reason and so on.
Anyway, what happens is you quickly get a real view of what needs to be done when and WHY.
I think it is the best method/principles book I have ever read. That in spite of the fact that I am not the biggest fan of some of his EFL textbooks. But then he's making so much money he doesn't care what I think! |

It's a grammar book that has some good exercises at the end of each chapter.
The Grammar Book: An ESL/EFL Teacher's Course (2nd ed)
by: Marianne Celce-Murcia and Diane Larsen-Freeeman.
I found it helpful.
