Hi
Does anyone have a good and interesting exercise to practice reporting verbs; not the standard ones. Those such as 'complain that', 'promise to', 'suggest doing' etc. My trainees are finding the differing sentence patterns difficult and .... boring. Up to know I've just been doing individual sentence conversions from direct to reported forms. I agree this way is not very creative nor particularly enthralling for either trainer or trainee. Perhaps a conversation from which several conversions could be elicited. Does anyone anyone have any ideas for doing 'personalized' practice of reported verbs ? Mine are pretty thin on the ground.
Thanks for any help/advice
regards
