Hello all!
I am a 37-year-old woman, and I'm considering looking into finding a teaching position in the Middle East. I have an M.A. in English, and I should finish my M.A.T. by Christmas. I've been teaching ESL/English for the past nine years, and I've taught at the high school and college level. As for overseas experience, I taught in Japan for a year and loved it, and as a youngster (19-20), I served in the U.S. Army in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Now that you know ALL about me, here's the deal: I've lost my shirt over the past several years in the stock market, and I'm in debt up to my ears! If I go to the Middle East, I want to make as much money as possible -- of course! I'm an easygoing person who likes learning about other cultures, so it's not ALL about the $$$, but that is the main reason I'm contemplating a somewhat scary tour.
I really appreciate any feedback you can provide: best places to work, safety issues, etc.
Thanks for your time!
Take care,
