Hello all!
I am a 37-year-old woman, and I'm considering looking into finding a teaching position in the Middle East. I have an M.A. in English, and I should finish my M.A.T. by Christmas. I've been teaching ESL/English for the past nine years, and I've taught at the high school and college level. As for overseas experience, I taught in Japan for a year and loved it, and as a youngster (19-20), I served in the U.S. Army in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Now that you know ALL about me, here's the deal: I've lost my shirt over the past several years in the stock market, and I'm in debt up to my ears! If I go to the Middle East, I want to make as much money as possible -- of course! I'm an easygoing person who likes learning about other cultures, so it's not ALL about the $$$, but that is the main reason I'm contemplating a somewhat scary tour.
I really appreciate any feedback you can provide: best places to work, safety issues, etc.
Thanks for your time!
Take care,
grey1

Hi Grey1

Welcome...

I think your first step would be to spend a few hours (days?) reading around on this board. There are volumes of information and many threads touching on all of your questions. It might help you to narrow down your questions according to your interests.

There is also a search function up at the top and you can search by topic.
