In a city so crowded with people, and the huge number of restaurants, it seems strange to me that toilets in plaza buildings are locked!

umm, what do you say about this? Did you really need to be so graphic? I'm a girl and you still made me squirm. There are certainly better ways, less graphic!, ways to tell stories. Feel free to use the better ways next time you decide to share your story with the world

Cheers! Neutral

I think you need to get out more. Also, why on earth would you expect anyone to understand Mandarin in Hong Kong?

321 Tommy, I am in complete agreement with you. What's next? Stories about a really big dump someone took in some nasty squatter? What is this story's relevance to anything? And why all of a sudden is everyone, including a security guard who probably makes four figures a month, required to speak Mandarin or English when Cantonese is the local language?

Wake up woman and be prepared next time.

Also, while I'm sure the name Dave's ESL Cafe might sound like a great place to post about hygiene mishaps, there must be a "How my monthly went horribly wrong" site out there somewhere just itching for post like yours, so why not send it to them if your so inclined to write a few paragraphs on the subject.

Ger.

Close your eyes.

Imagine how happy and successful you could be if you used all the energy you currently devote to negativity and used it to do something positive.

After reading your story I now susspect you are female.

Perhaps you could post a confirmation?

This shows that in Hong Kong English speakers are hopeless, Cantonese speakers occupy the lowest rung of the social ladder, while Mandarin-babbling mainlanders are to be found in higher positions.
Clearly, HK is no longer an educational beacon!

From Ger's link; "The purpose of this sentence is to apologize for the pointless and silly adolescent games"

Maybe Ger is trying to apologise for her post, which smacks of adolescent girls discussing their period experiences in teeny magazines.
"Yeah well, and it was soooo embarassing, like yeah? Coz, we was goin down the cinema and me, well I was wearin me white jeans, and I didn't know I was gonna come on, I mean, it ain't coz I'm stupid, but I read in Sugar that it can take till you're 18 for your periods to settle down, innit? Anway, so I was so sooooo embarassed coz Tony had to tell me that there was like red on my jeans..." blah blah blah.

Am I right Ger, was that link an apology for your post, for this reason?
Apology accepted, I'm sure. Now just waiting for the men to tell us, teenage boy style, about how often they "self pleasure." (nb I'm being ironic, this is not an invitation).

Well, if that's the type of thing you're teaching them then I guess I might have a few suggestions... Wink

Just joking.

Seriously Ger, how are you doing today?
