I doubt many employers would agree to a six-month contract. There are considerable documentation/immigration costs to hiring a new expat teacher, including the DPKK levy of $1200 per year, which has to be paid in advance.
A school could put you on a short-term visa, such as a business visa or a temporary working visa, but they would probably not think it worth the hassle or expense.
There may be ways around this, but I don't know any. |

'Tis true. Employers have to pay the government roughly $1000 US upfront in taxes and have to pay for your one year work visa (KITAS) as well (about $600 US I think).
For most teaching jobs the school isn't going to pay that kind of money unless they know they'll get a full year's worth of profits out of you. |
