I am thinking about coming to Argentina to take a TEFL (or like) course in August. I have heard that the best time to find jobs is in March-April. So would it be very difficult to find work in August-September and up to March-April? Is it especially hard to find work during the Summer holiday, or is this fear overblown? Perhaps more to the point, I am debating between Spain and Argentina and in Spain I would be going at the peak time for securing a job, while in Argentina, I would not be. Should this be a factor in my decision making? Or is no big deal? |

The Aug TEFL courses in Spain are usually fully booked around June, early July. In Argentina you will stand a better chance of finding a spot during these summer (that is Spanish summer) TEFL courses. As far as jobs, depending on who you TEFL train with, you can do your course in either city and work in the city you feel most comfortable with I guess. Of course the money for flying between Spain and Argentina is to be considered. Im in a kinda similar situation, I TEFL trained in Spain, am working here in Madrid till June and then try my luck in Buenos Aires starting July maybe. Or maybe travel a bit around South America. I want to relax and enjoy myself before working again, I took just a bit too many hours in Madrid and accepting all the hours that come your way can also have a burnout effect. So watch it on that. It can be tempting, we all need the cash but you gotta enjoy yourself as well. I was able to see a lot of Europe, enjoy Spain but then whenever I got back to Madrid, my working weeks were so full of work! Well, Ill know the next time, maybe should spend more time in the bars! Buenos Aires doesnt look bad in the winter, I think. Suerte y hasta luego! |
