Hi
I am a 32 year old married South African teacher with a Bacehlors degree in Education Management. I have 10 years of teaching experience. English is my native language and have been teaching englsih and arts at elementary school for the past decade. I dont have tefl qualiffication but are considering the online tefl certicate. My questions i have for you guys are as follows:
1)Would i find a job in the middle east with my qualification?
2) I know thw situation about DL but i dont want to teach ESL for very long maybe just a year or two. How marketable wouldi be with an online tefl cetificate and 10 years of teaching experience
3)My husbands holds a 4 year diploma in teaching plus 10 years of teaching experience in maths, science and english (native language). Would he find a job with 4 year diploma in teaching and tefl online plus experience or should we just consider another country? If so is there anybody that recommends another country except the far east.
Thanks in advance and i would just like to mention that you guys are doing a great job on this site, its like an oasis in a desert
Cosider this one of your good deeds for the day |

Hi there
The IPA in Riyadh has both men and womens branches. I advise you to apply to them since they are very desperate for teachers. The URL is: www.ipa.edu.sa
Regards and best wishes |

They require some form of TEFL Cert. As for the violence then as long as you dont work for the militray should be ok.

I've heard that the IPA are reluctant to employ foreign female teachers.
However, if you were to be on your husband's iqama - and could thus rid the IPA of the costs and hassles of sponsering you and giving you an "international" contract - you might be in with a chance. |

Hi everyone,
I am glad there are so many people on this site who take teaching seriously. It is always good to compare ideas with people of the same level of thinking or at least based on some common principle(s).
I am new at teaching here in the Kingdom, and I have to admit compared to some of the countries I have taught the students here are different. Why is that? Some want to learn, some dont, there are some really bright ones and some so so dim ones, its interesting. Any consructive ideas would help me out a great deal. |

Jobs in teaching for non-Saudi females in KSA are few. There are many Saudi females with education and training. For them teaching is the main chance to enter the labour market. |
