I would like to know if Hong kong goes on Holidays for May Day

on the 1st of May

Well the schools are closed, so I guess it is a public holiday. Same goes for May 16th - day after Buddha's birthday which, like May day, falls on a Sunday this year.
Personally for me, it's even better - I've started teaching at Northern Lamma Primary school and May 3 is also a holiday on the island, for the Tin Hau festival. So a very nice easy week coming up!
