i did a search to see if anyone had posted anything useful about uruguay, but the most recent i found was from 2003, so i thought maybe info had changed or people posting had changed since then.
basically wondering if anyone knew what the job situation is like there, and what the visa situation is. if i can't get a teaching job maybe i could be a student instead, so would be interested in hearing about reputable language schools to learn spanish.
and a more general question - i never did TEFL or CELTA, i taught conversation in france and am currently working in brazil with IICA, which is technically a "teacher training" program and will technically give me an "ESL certificate" when i finish. so, practical experience, but no letters. will "real" jobs recognize this cert, do you think?
i am planning to get an MA-TESOL, deciding whether to start this coming fall or in a year. obviously job prospects will be better afterwards. but can i get some interesting stuff now or should i hold off on further wanderings till i've done my time?
thanks for your advice. |

Hey, i was in uruguay for a bit looking for a job. The pay sucked and they didnt seem interested in having native speakers. Best bet is to do private lessons. PM me for more information. Take care. |
