I was sent this card which gives me the 5 digits for each box.
I even had a friend find where I can put this info in.
https://www.ufjbank.co.jp/ib/login/index.html
Does anyone have an allone account with UFJ and know if they supply me with a 6-12 character password or am I supposed to tell them one?
I can't recall if I gave them one, if I did there is no way it was 6-12 characters.
No one speaks English there, so I'm desperate to find someone who might have this account. It isn't the same as any other ECC teacher because I went with my dad to get this. It's a blue card.

Thanks in advance...

Unless you have to deal with UFJ I'd use this bank.

It operates like a real bank and has excellent English service. It's all online and can be used from any 7-11 with an atm. There are no service fees and those gotten from using other machines are refunded into your acocunt the next month.

Why? It's foreign controlled and thus focused on making a proffit rather than maintaining "relationships" at the expnese of customer service.

Mike, interesting. What about sending money to another country? I don't use Lloyds that much anymore. I used to send money every month, but now, not as often. Would it be advantageous taking advantage of this bank's services. Could you offer some insight? Thanks.

Unfortunately, their money transfers used to be 2000 yen but are now 4000 the last I checked.

You can still use Llyods with them though....

Shinsei also has the "plus" system logo on it's cards which can be used in North america and elsewhere....

You sure about that? I just went to the website to check (because I use them)....

It still says 2000...

GoLloyds is a fast, convenient and inexpensive way to send funds overseas*. Use it to electronically remit funds to pre-registered beneficiaries. Remitters simply use one of Japan's 28,000 ATMs to transfer the funds domestically. GoLloyds then completes the overseas remittance.

GoLloyds offers most major currencies at very competitive exchange rates. Funds received by 3:00 pm are remitted abroad the same day by telegraphic transfer.

The service fee is only 2,000yen.

Man, I'd be pretty P.O.ed if they doubled the fee...

Unless they haven't updated that webpage....

The card you received is for UFJ Direct. You should have a small pinkish color card with UFJ and the direct in Katakana written on it.

On the reverse side of this card at the top there will be two sets of numbers separated by a hyphen. There are 10 digits on my card which I use to access the service.

As I remember, the password you would have filled out when you made the application for the account. But if you have forgotten it then you need to call the number on the back of the card. It should be 0120-892-505. For security purposes they will ask you to read a series of numbers on the back of your card in the four square box.

It is best to ask someone to help you with this if you can't speak Japanese.

As for sending money abroad....what's wrong with using the post office?

The transfer fee depending on the amount is generally around 700 yen.

Poor rates. Shinsei or Citibank will offer much better exchanges.

I use Citibank myself to send my savings to my offshore private banking account. They also raised their transaction fees last year.

My wife has opened an account with Shinsei and it seems to offer the best services at the moment, as they are seeking to attract new customers. I'd watch out, though, as they are bound to raise their service charges sometime in the future. In the meantime, this bank seems to be the one to deal with.

Dominique, what do you mean you have no choice?! If you got some money you can put it into any bank you wish.

I think the problem is that unenlightened employer is making her use UFJ. But of ocurse you are right she could dump the cash into a Shinsei account on payday.
