Has anyone heard about this program? Is it legitimate? I heard that someone I know is taking the course and I had never heard of it before.

On their website they say, "Complete this form with your registration, and we guarantee you a position as an English teacher in Asia or Europe."
Can't beat that - so I filled out the form and registration. Hope they get me a job soon! They didn't say I have to pay - or take the classes! What a great deal.
Okay, seriously, any training is better than no training. But it isn't a real TEFL Cert. - you need to have some supervised teaching practice (6-8 hours minimum) and about 100+ classroom hours to get the to "standard" - though I don't know who set the standard.
Ask yourself this though - how can anyone GUARANTEE you a job? Maybe a job offer - but certainly not a job. And what if you are a total flake and can only mumble - are you still guaranteed a job?
I'm just being difficult with them. But, the website is a nice piece of promotion. Made Seoul look almost liveable |

Ok, that answers the question about their job placement promise. I'm not not really concerned about all the job placement promises these institutes make anyway. Some are better than others I'm sure. Also, the thing about the class time with an actual teacher is understandable. However, there are some people who have to take a course completely online. They have no other choice. What I wanted to know is whether their teaching program is good or not. Hard to tell unless there is someone who has actually taken it. So, I'm not interested about thier job placement promise. I want to know: is it a good curriculum or not? |

No curriculum can make up for hands on teaching. If you want a GOOD curriculum, take the hints above, and make sure it gives you a lot of class time and a chance to do a sample lesson. Some courses allow for a practium in an actual school setting which is a great plus. |

OK, let's see how I can get my point across. You say nothing can take the place of class time. I know that. Anybody with any sense knows that. Of the online courses that are offered on the Internet, does it have a decent curriculum or is it not so great? I'd like to hear an opinion of someone who has taken the course. If you haven't taken it, don't knock it. |
