I searched through posts and didn't find a problem identical to mine.

My contract ends 6/30 and possibly can leave sooner. I interviewed--I hosted an informal English corner for the faculty--with a school in Shenzhen and have been in touch via email and text messages with my contact, who's told me "I'm welcome to work here but just be patient".

I have already arranged for accomodation in Shenzhen. My visa expires in August.

Do I just move to Shenzhen, register with the PSB, and wait for school to start? I thought about going to language school for Mandarin but Shenzhen U. seems a tad expensive, especially what a teacher from Wuhan told me classes were like, viz., you pay a lot and receive little real instruction. I once went to Chinese university for a year in Taipei where the teachers stood in front of the classroom and talked at us.

Any old hands or any with any similar experience, please advise on my visa status. No one here has any ideas about what's going on.

Cheers!
