Hello,
Recently been offered a contract at Lingdong English School in Foshan. The woman hiring me seems very friendly and I have no problems with the contract. Just wondering if anyone has worked at that school or in the city. Would love to know anything and everything that I can before I start. Much appreciated. |

I am not familiar with Lingdong but I have the impression your would-be employer is not a school but a training centre.
This means you will probably be loaned to corporate clients for in-house training. This could come with the downside of enormous commutes on the road - transport no doubt provided but the time you spend being ferried around will be your loss.
I know FOSHAN and can tell you it is a thoroughly enjoyable place by Chiense standards: the town itself is smallish (one million inhabitants) but combined with the rural counties it is a huge swathe of territory encompassing towns such as Lecong, Longjiang, Shunde.
If you are based in the downtown area you will enjoy your sojourn in Foshan. IT's not far from Guangzhou; a bus trip takes little more than one hour. |
